Stanhope Estate, Ashford
The tenement blocks shown are typical of this 1960s housing estate which was built primarily for the London overspill. Current regeneration plans (2005) involve demolition of the old flat blocks so this may soon be a scene from the past.

Byway from Chart Road
This green lane is a byway that should lead to Cuckoo Lane near Singleton. Some of it still exists but some sections are blocked and impassable. This section leads to Washford Farm Road.

Lost byway in Stanhope
Due to the construction of the Stanhope Estate in the 60's a byway leading to Cuckoo Lane from Chart Road,has been left to overgrow and return to nature.

Stanhope Library (temporary building)
As part of the redevelopment of the Stanhope Estate, the Square where the library is currently located is being demolished from February 2009. The Library is being temporarily housed in the Moat Housing Portacabin until Summer 2010 when the new library should be completed.

Re-development site in the Stanhope Estate
This run down estate is being re-developed in phases. This site 10 is being developed by Denne Construction. One of the founder members of the successful Chrysalis Consortium (managing the estate) on this major housing PFI (Private Finance Initiative) estate in Ashford, Kent. The consortium consists of Gleeson Homes, Moat Housing, Nationwide and Powerminster.
