'Geerings Passage' actually has no known name but was the passage from Park Street through to the High Street, beside Geerings stationery emporium... on the right, which has now become something else. The Geerings family ran the Kent Messenger newspaper among other things.

Modern Stamp Vending Machine Tufton Street
Since the decision (back in the 1990s?) by Royal Mail Counters Ltd to allow supermarkets and other 24-hour retail outlets to sell books of stamps, vending machines such as this have not been so much in demand. This one still works, and gives change, but does not accept the full range of coins.
