The High Street, Uckfield
It was said that when the station was placed on the other side of the main road, thus avoiding the use of a level crossing, the traffic would flow more freely through the town centre. Yet, with the increase of cars on the road it seems to have made no difference and this photo wass taken before the 'School Run' and rush hour.
