Cranbrook: Waterloo Place
A stern, urban-looking terrace which wouldn't be out of place in Canonbury or Kennington. Here in Cranbrook, where many of the older houses are either weather-boarded (white) or tile-hung (red), early 19th-century stock-brick seems drab by contrast.
It is also the case that for centuries the town has developed plot by small plot - and in that context even a small-scale terraced development like this seems mildly barrack-like. The name Waterloo Place could hardly have been better chosen.

The High Weald Landscape Trail crosses Waterloo Place
The long distance path heads from The Park towards Cranbrook High Street. It passes a recreation ground before reaching Jockey Lane.
