The notice on the telephone box refers to the Grand Opening of the Defibrillator Phone Box on Saturday 17th September at 10.30 am. It was clearly a major event for the villagers of Kilndown as coffee, tea and cakes were to be served.

The pond is between Church Road and West Road in the centre of the village. It is opposite the church but hidden from the latter by trees. The pond and its surrounds are freely accessible.
