Bessels House, Bessels Green
A curiosity, in that this is a house with two names. What must have been the original name - Providence House - can be seen above the central first-floor window. That might just suggest a rectory, but John Newman - writing in the local volume of 'Pevsner' - says that the house was built for a Dr Epps, a homeopathic physician.

Bessels Green
Bessels Green is well known to anyone leaving the A21 to head into Sevenoaks via Riverhead as it is next to the busy Westerham Road. It was originally a separate village but is now incorporated into the built-up area of Sevenoaks. The triangular green is surrounded by attractive houses and cottages as seen here.
