The Crown, Stafford Street
Queen Street, to the left, has been pedestrianised, which must improve things for this pub on the corner.

The Salopian Star, Stafford Street
Opposite Cross Street and the Stafford Court Hotel, this is an interesting old building, with a curious room built out over the porch. The Kings Arms, in Shropshire Street, has one too. Christmas has come early or stayed late, because the neon sign hanging to the left of the little room reads 'Merry Christmas'.

Salopian Star pub sign
Perhaps the picture represents an even earlier pub, built on this site, because the present one, though very old, looks nothing like this.
