At the corner of Cheshire Street and Shropshire Street. Built in 1653, it has been a greengrocers, grocers, fruiterers, ironmongers, fishmongers, a bank, wine bar, restaurant and, since the 1980s, a hotel.

Clive and Coffyne, Shropshire St
What a lovely name! Clive (of India) is Market Drayton's most famous son, and is reputed to have brought back ginger so that gingerbread could be invented in his home town. I don't know the significance of the coffyne, except that it comes to us all.

Grade II* listed. Listing number 1307835. Pair of houses, latterly bank, now restaurant and shop. Mid-C17, restored in 1962. Timber-framed with plastered infill; ground floor rebuilt in C20 with yellow/grey sandstone/reconstituted stone. Rendered gable end to south- west.
