M54 Motorway - junction 5 overbridge
Junction 5 on the M54 is really very odd. Shoehorned into a restricted site and configured with a single roundabout off the line of motorway serving both sets of slip roads and the connecting ordinary roads. In concept, it is similar to toll road exits common in France and the USA, or some very early UK motorway junction designs.

A peculiar glade in the middle of planted woodland
This open area lies, effectively, in the middle of one of the M54 sliproad loops, but can be legitimately accessed on foot from a gateway off the Forge Roundabout just to the SE.

M54 Motorway approaching junction 5, westbound
An exceptionally long slip lane is provided in advance of junction 5, both due to its importance and the need to decelerate significantly before the junction, due to the latter's unusually tight slip road curvature. Parapets for the bridges over the railway (concrete) and A442 road (metal) can be seen in the middle distance.
