Rebuilding M54
Attempts to just resurface this road had proved to be a waste of time and the whole carriageway needed to be dug out and re-built. This section from junction 5 Westwards was done in 1997 by Shropshire County Council on behalf of the Highways Agency, much to the relief of the long suffering motorist. Image

Open land on Old Park
Much of the Old Park area, largely former mining tips, was landscaped under the auspices of Telford Development Corporation in the 1960s/70s, and has been planted with trees in many places since then. This field was left to open grass.
