Much Wenlock: the Market Square
Looking across the ending of the High Street and the Market Square. The clock tower commemorates the jubilee of Queen Victoria, but I can't remember – and nor have I since been able to find out – which jubilee it is!

Apparently 'shuts' were cobbled short cuts to other areas and usually named after nearby pubs. There is also a George and Dragon Shut in Much Wenlock.

Collectively Grade II listed https://britishlistedbuildings.co.uk/101367530-17-and-18-barrow-street-much-wenlock#.XQUNPLxKjIU & https://historicengland.org.uk/listing/the-list/list-entry/1367530 in 1974, these two former houses date from the early 18th century, although the shop fronts are 19th century additions.
