Evening over Mansfield
A blurry camera-phone picture taken at about 5pm on Boxing Day 2004, from a flat on Rosevale Street. The wet and empty car park of Eastfield Mills is visible below. From Goat to Coat
Emblems of 'Johnstons of Elgin'- Royal Warrant holders in the manufacture of cashmere woollens - outside their Mill in Hawick, Scottish Borders.
So complete is their control of the business that they have their own herds of goats in China and Korea to ensure supply of the wool fibre which is refined in Elgin and shipped to Hawick as yarn for the manufacture of a wide range of finest quality cashmere garments and textiles.
