The Snoot Youth Hostel
A SYHA hostel in an idyllic setting in the Borders region. The Edinburgh University Pony Trekking Society used to run pony trekking holidays from here in the summer holidays to raise funds to maintain their herd of Exmoor ponies. Sadly the hostel closed around 1998.

Parkhillhaugh/The Snoot
I was not aware that I had once stayed here Image but there was a notice board from which I noted the name Parkhillhaugh, which I assume is the name of the house situated beside the former church/youth hostel.

The Snoot.
A curious building, it looked rather familiar. Once a church it was for many years an SYHA youth hostel. As with nearly all simple SYHA hostels of character, it is now closed.
