The "main" road through Newcastleton. Still takes a lot of heavy forestry traffic, and when the A7 was closed near Langholm in 2008, this would have been one of the alternative routes.

Buccleuch House, Newcastleton
Community centre, managed by the Newcastleton & District Community Trust. The clock was put up in 2005 by the Liddesdale Ladies Amenities Group. Lion's head drinking fountain
Situated in the public park, off Union Street. An adjacent stone is inscribed 'restored by Liddesdale Ladies Amenities Group 1995'. It was restored again in 2015 http://www.eladvertiser.co.uk/news/Raise-a-glass-to-fountain-c62ca87a-6df7-494d-958c-48ca75ef2c37-ds . The makers name Glenfield & Kennedy is on the base - a Kilmarnock firm.
