Blackhouse Farm
This was viewed in mid January from North Hawkshaw Rig. James Hogg the Ettrick Shepherd worked as a shepherd at Blackhouse for ten years.

Irish Bridge, Blackhouse
This is part ford, part bridge and there are a number of them on the track to Muttonhall. The idea that in times of flood the burn crossing is not washed away and the concrete base can be easily cleared.
This contraption seems to work so not living up to its local name of an Irish Bridge.
