Wooded stretch on the road to Ashkirk
The trees are indicated on the larger-scale map. I could not see the Ale Water which runs just south of the road at this point - the sudden warmth of early June has encouraged a rush of growth of greenery!

Woodruff in the verge near Ashkirk
At the side of the road leading to Woll. Woodruff http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Galium_odoratum is a fragrant plant which often grows near or amongst beech trees, of which there are many in this area.

Walking from Ashkirk Church back to the village
A pleasant walk with very little traffic at this time; I suspect it is often busier, as this road is the quickest route between the popular Woll Golf Course and the A7.
