Get your macho steaks here
The butcher noticed me taking photos so I popped inside and said that I liked his sign on the pavement. He said a lot of folk get the wrong idea about it and that they hang their beef longer than other local butchers. The shop is at the north junction of Tower Street and Back Row in Selkirk.

Masonic Lodge, Selkirk
From 'Selkirk Town Trail' booklet: "The present red sandstone Masonic Lodge was built in the 19th century to replace the earlier lodge in the Market Place. One of the first lodges in Scotland, it was originally called Lodge No1, but the lodge in Kilwinning claimed to be first, so the compromise was that both then became called Lodge No1(2)" (to be accurate, the 2 which I have put in brackets should be a raised little 2, but I don't have that facility on my keyboard). What daftness!
