Feeding Time At The Scottish Borders Donkey Sanctuary
An expectant lineup at the SBDS near St. Boswells. A registered charity, the sanctuary opened in 2003 and is open for guided tours at 2pm on a Saturday and Sunday. For further information, see: http://www.donkeyheaven.org/

Island and shingle bank in the Tweed
A beautiful stretch of the river where it swings round in a bend which encloses the site of Dryburgh Abbey. Goosanders and herons appear to be common here, both fish-eaters, so a potential conflict with fishing interests.

Flood signs were out at this dip in the road between St Boswells and Newtown St Boswells. The majority of drivers approached the water with caution but some had a more cavalier approach.
