Ednam Parish Church
The original church was built sometime between 1097 and 1107, but the original foundations are not visible today. The first permanent minister was appointed in 1599 and the 900th anniversary of the church was celebrated from 2nd to 9th October 2005 in the village. (Source: Village of Ednam information web site)

A symbolic carving at Ednam Church
This stone tablet resting against the east wall of the church appears to be an end panel from a chest tomb or tablestone grave. It shows an infant with a woman holding up the skull of a child, representing the deceased. The skull is an emblem of mortality.
