Royal Mail delivery office, Berwick-upon-Tweed
The base for postal deliveries in Berwick and the surrounding rural area is located on Woolmarket in the town centre. The ground floor of the building was once used as the towns main post office, however it closed in the 1990s and post office services are now offered from a shop in the town centre.

No 35, Woolmarket, c 1830
This house has riotously wild ashlar on the ground floor level, with diagonal chase-work, vertical tracery and gable-scrolls. It was the home of Dr George Johnston, (founder in 1831 of the Berwickshire Naturalist Club), from 1829 until his death in 1855. (So presumably he was the first occupant? Did he have any say in its building-work?)
