The doorway of Ford Smithy
Ford Smithy, 1863, was originally offered for rental by Mr Oxley of Heatherslaw. The 'compleat Iron Forge' had many facilities, including a three-hundredweight Hammer.

The old blacksmith's shop in Ford with its distinctive raised surround to the doorway was built in 1863 for the Marchioness of Waterford and is modelled on a similar building in Co. Waterford in Ireland.
