Terraced Houses beside Pier Field
Two rows of 19 century terraced houses seen across Pier Field recreation ground, home to Berwick Cricket Club and Berwick Tennis Club. Coastguard Station Cottages is the terrace on the left whilst Devon Terrace is on the right.

Marvellous masonry
This wonderful new window incorporates the image of a crab at the centre of each vertical pillar, with stunning swirls and maritime magic all around. (I stopped the mason working one afternoon, getting him to chat - he is very dismissive of his own astonishing skill.)

Coxons Tower
This tower stands on the line of the medieval wall, and was originally built to withstand naval attack. It was once named Bulwark in the Sands. It has a rib vaulted 14th century upper chamber and a gun deck constructed in 1491.

Masonry Medusa
More stunning stonework by the reticent restorer who is bringing the old building at the end of Pier Road back to life. I've watched this arch take shape on formers, at the edge of the property, throughout the winter ... it is exciting to see it in place.
