Former theatre and cinema, Berwick
Opened in 1928, The Theatre was intended for both film and stage performances. The last film screening was in 1969, and after becoming a nightclub and then a bingo hall, in 2015 it was redeveloped to house a combination of a restaurant, a shop, and residential accommodation. Former Theatre, 17-21 Hide Hill, Berwick-upon-Tweed
Designed for film and live performances it opened in early 1928. It closed as a cinema in 1969 and became Caesar's Palace Nightclub in the 1970s. Later as Forth Bingo it closed in 2011. Refurbished around 2015 in 2016 it was given the Civic Society award for a building or project that is considered to make an outstanding contribution to the town. Converted for residential, office or shop use it is currently (2021) partly occupied by Amran's Indian Kitchen and Grill.

Garden of the King's Arms Hotel
This mediaeval walled garden, a quiet oasis just off busy Hide Hill Image, used to be a lovely place for a quiet drink or a meal on a sunny afternoon. Shortly before the hotel was sold to its current owners, all the interesting and established herbaceous borders - here we can see astilbe, geranium and herbs including marjoram and fennel - were ripped out and replaced with gaudy bedding-plants: following the sale (which if memory serves correctly was in late 2011), the hotel was closed for refurbishment and lots of building work went on, but to date it has not reopened to the public. Forth Bingo Club
Originally a theatre, dating from the early 1900s. In the 1960s the building housed a casino and cabaret, before becoming a nightclub in the 1980s. From the 1990s, it was converted to residential units with a bingo hall on the ground floor. Subsequent to this photo, in December 2011, it closed and remained empty for a number of years.
