Sweet memories ....
Elegantly-presented sweets of bygone days in a shop on Walkergate which has sadly ceased trading. I had to resist going inside (constant 'diet' etc) but it was one of those businesses which had that proper historical look, providing old-fashioned liquorice and chocolates in addition to the jars pictured here, and which one hoped would succeed on the 'a little of what you fancy' trade for birthdays and celebratory treats.

Bunting on Walkergate
Looking up Walkergate towards Wallace Green and the Parade. Bunting has been stung up over head to mark the diamond jubilee of Queen Elizabeth the Second and the passage of the Olympic flame through the town on June 14th 2012.

Demolition of former Kwik Save store, seen from Hatters Lane
Looking at the former Kwik Save store in Berwick-upon-Tweed which is being demolished to make way for an office development. The store has been unoccupied since the supermarket chain collapsed in 2007. Image shows the same view at the start of 2015.

Looking from the town walls into Hatters Lane and at the new Office building which is being built and upon completion will become the new home of a local accountancy business based in the town.

New offices under construction, Hatters Lane, Berwick-upon-Tweed
New offices are under construction on the site of the former Kwik Save store on the corner of Hatters Lane and Walkergate. In the 6 weeks from the date of Image construction has progressed rapidly with steelwork being erected and most of the roof being added.
Image taken from almost the same position shows what the previous building which occupied the site looked like before its demolition. Image shows the building being demolished.
