Unpleasantness, Reston
A stile leads to the river bank from the bridge and a barrage of newly erected bossy NO-tices. Even CCTV is on offer, must be an effect of the nearby English border, as this rubbish is fortunately rare in Scotland. The one forbidding getting into the water is surely non compliant under the Land Reform Act. It may be unwise, notices warning of danger of drowning are welcome, but this comes across as pure goml. How much did this cost?

Village scene, Reston
The B6438 passes through the village and the name Reston comes from the Olde English for place "tun" amongst the brush wood "rispe". The K6 telephone box stands beside the post office. In 1935, the Post Office commissioned a new kiosk from Sir Giles Gilbert Scott to celebrate the Jubilee of King George V. The K6 Jubilee Kiosk, as it is known, was similar to the K2 box, being made of cast iron and painted red but was 25% lighter in weight. By the end of the 1930s there were 20,000 K6 telephone boxes in use all over the UK.
