Waymark and path signs, Tweedbank
A waymark post that looks like a set of boy scout's badges: Borders Abbeys Way, Tweedbank Family Nature Trail, Galashiels Paths, Melrose Paths and Walk It - 'walk your way to health & happiness', a sentiment with which the photographer can heartily concur!

Borders Abbeys Way at Tweedbank
The Borders Abbeys Way, a circular long-distance walking route in the Scottish Borders, here follows a path round a housing estate at Tweedbank. With the construction of Borders Railway, the Southern Uplands Way which previously followed the trackbed of the old railway has now been diverted and runs in common with the Borders Abbeys Way for over 4 km from Galafoot Bridge to Chain Bridge.

A bullfinch (Pyrrhula pyrrhula)
This male bird is feeding on the catkins of a small silver birch tree in a narrow strip wood at Tweedbank. The male has a jet black cap and striking pink-red underparts.
