Shingle banks on the Ettrick Water
The river bed drops a little through the shingle banks near Bridgeheugh. The water level is low following a spell of dry weather.

Lindean from the air
Bridgelands is in the foreground. The circular feature near the centre of the photo is a horse riding ring near Lindean Mill, beyond which Ettrick Water can be seen flowing into the River Tweed.

A flooded horse field at Selkirk
Prolonged rain falling on already saturated ground resulted in flooding in many parts of the Scottish Borders. This horse’s stable quarters at the north side of Selkirk appeared to be dry but parts of the field were under water.
