Galashiels from the road to Langlee Mains
A good view opens up as the road climbs the S flank of Blaikie's Hill, with the Abbotsford Mill chimney prominent amongst the old mill buildings by the Gala Water.

Mill lade and water turbine, Galashiels
A short open length of the mill lade is on view alongside Huddersfield Street at the Gala Water Retail Park. The turbine was used to power machinery in one of the textile mills here as recently as 1968, as noted on a nearby information board.
