Ruined house and site of a silage store. This is a strong measure of the relative severity of the current winter; most of the round bale silage has been eaten. It is beginning to look like what is really the cruelest of seasons, Spring is going to be tough this year.

Footpath sign, Middletoun
A useful sign, pointing the way through the Middletoun steading to the trackbed of the Lauder Light Railway. I am always reluctant to pass through a farmyard uninvited, so a sign like this can open up a lot of country.
