World Champion Racing Driver Jim Clark 1936- 1968 was brought up on the family farm nearby and went to school here in Chirnside Berwickshire. Tragically he was killed in a race at Hockenheim Germany in 1968. Jim was buried in Chirnside Churchyard. https://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/122202

Welcome Sign at Chirnside, home of Jim Clark OBE
Jim Clark 1936-1968 was raised on the family farm near here in the Scottish Borders. He became a World Champion racing driver but was tragically killed in a race at Hockenheim Germany.
