Gavinton Village Hall
The village hall in the small village of Gavinton. The "L" shaped building consists of 2 halls. The original part of the building faces the village green and dates from the mid 19th century. Butterwell Hall, which faces South Street, was added in 1929. The building was refurbished in 2008, which is when I presume the glazed entrance hall was added. Signs in the glazed entrance hall show that, on the day I visited, the hall was being used as a polling station for local people to vote in the Scottish Independence Referendum and answer the question "Should Scotland be an independent country?"
