Just in case
Apex Park is a former clay and brick works. The remaining pits were turned into lakes and are now a popular country park, covering some 42 acres. The lakes are pretty deep in places and hence the need for lifebelts.

Ceramic 'S'
Apex Park was formerly a large clay and brick works. Somerset's low-lying lands are good for industrial brick-making clays and hence there were several small pits dug since the 1700s. However, this area was particularly rich, allowing bigger efforts to be made. It was formerly the Colthurst, Symons & Company works and also the Apex Tile Company. This curved feature nods to the old works with several ceramic crowns, but also commemorates the Golden Jubilee in 2012. See Image] for more.
