Birthplace of a noble man
This charity shop on the corner of the High Street and Cross Street seems ordinary enough. But the blue plaque on the wall marks the fact that this is actually the place of Sir John Pople, winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize for chemistry. He was born on October 31st, 1925 and died in 2004.

The establishment is on the junction of High Street and Adam Street, Burnham on Sea and was formerly a chapel.

The Skye is limited
A former nineteenth century Sunday School and hall was converted into an amusement arcade and Burnham's only night club. Sadly the bar closed in 2014 and has lain silent. Plans have been in place to convert the upper floor from a bar into residential use.
