Princess Theatre and Arts Centre
According to the official website: 'The Princess situated in the sea-side town of Burnham-on-Sea has had a varied history. Built in 1869 by a private company known as the Market House and Town Hall Company at a cost of £2,000 it has housed the Council Chamber, been used as a covered market and even accommodated the town fire station under its first floor auditorium.' By the mid-1990s, Sedgemoor District Council paid for a major redevelopment of the venue, and with increased the range of facilities and opportunities for the local community. However, it ran out of money by 2006 and was put up for sale. After some negotiation, Burnham and Highbridge Town Council bought it for a paltry £1.

Celebrating the town's heroes
Burnham's lifeboat service has been a source of pride for many years. To mark that a large mural has been created close to the Victoria Hotel on a wall that has earlier works. Note also the other works on the adjoining walls which include halved beer kegs.
