Unexpected sight in Williton
Not what you expect to see when taking your rubbish to the recycling centre...male peacock loitering and displaying. Have previously seen pea hen and young peas just wandering about, on the highway, casual as anything.

Williton Workhouse
Now named Sir Gilbert Scott Court after the original founder, this Grade II listed building started life around 1838 as a workhouse, accommodating more than a hundred paupers from the surrounding area. After a spell of use as a hospital, the building was converted to flats.

Heritage Diesel Locomotive at Williton
Williton's Diesel & Electrical Preservation Group maintains a number of locomotives for use on the West Somerset Railway. D7017, a class 35 built in Manchester in 1962, came here in 1975.

North Star at Williton
Williton's Diesel & Electrical Preservation Group maintains a number of locomotives for use on the West Somerset Railway. D1661, a Brush type 4, was built at Crewe in 1965. She was named "North Star" before leaving Paddington on a special journey to Bristol in March 1965. She has been at the WSR since 2004.
