Auction sale at Kings Yard, 1988
This was a small selection of the machinery in W J King's Yard at the famous disposal auction which took place in 1988. This row of Field Marshall tractors all went on to new lives in preservation. King's were a well known local contractors with interests in threshing, road haulage and quarrying. There was a huge amount of old equipment at their yard, including threshers, tractors and steam wagons, some of which had been there for 50 years.
