A field close to the cricket club and village hall provides occasional room. No indication is given as to what the field offers otherwise.

The satellite dish on the cricket club looks as lichen-crusted as many of the other old buildings in the village.

Flagpoles at the cricket ground
Ilton's ground is partly lined by a number of what appear to be flagpoles, one of which had rusted at the bottom and fallen. The wicket appears to be on a north-south alignment, so the poles might not be used for the screens.

'Au Bon Droit'
The local inn sign literally translates as 'To Good, Right' - or more expressively as 'with good reason'. The motto is associated originally with the Windom family who lived in Wymondham, Norfolk in Saxon times. The acceptance of a motto on the coat of arms is fairly unusual.

The Merryfield Hall
Ilton's village hall is a nice modern facility next to the cricket ground. It boasts a main hall of 118 sq.m. and a smaller meeting room with lots of facilities. Like most of the buildings on Copse Lane its date is latter twentieth century.

A charming little ground with some welcoming vantage points. See http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/4678938 for the poles along the boundary.
