A hamstone pub on New Road, which has been replaced by an even newer road as the route of the very busy A303. I was lucky, I only travelled this route on winter Sundays to get to orienteering events in Devon, thus missing the jams.

Looking across the main road through the village from the start of School Lane. The cottages are built of local Ham Hill stone.

Young cyclists, one in a Yoevil, sorry Yeovil shirt on the quiet former A303 in Seavington St Michael. Thankfully the village bypassed during the 1980s.
Good to see local teams getting support. It's annoying seeing lots of Manure or Chelsea shirts being worn near places like Cheltenham, Yeovil or Shrewsbury.

Not a great deal has changed since 1955 http://www.francisfrith.com/search/england/somerset/seavington+st+michael/photos/seavington+st+michael_s792001.htm although as the site points out, the pub has lost its whitewash, and it looks as though the road was widened while this was still a main road to the southwest.
