Crewkerne: train at Crewkerne Station
Looking towards Waterloo. The London & South Western Railway opened from Yeovil Junction, through Crewkerne, to Exeter on 19 July 1860. Going east the line drops down to Yeovil Junction on a ruling gradient of 1 in 80. The signalbox, on the left, is redundant. There is now only a single track through the station

Crewkerne: Crewkerne Station
A splendid example of local Victorian architecture, probably dating from 1860 when the railway was opened from Yeovil Junction to Exeter. The line was originally double track - the second platform is visible on the right - but has been singled in recent years
