Entrance to Musgrove Park Hospital Old Buildings
This was probably one of the main entrances when the hospital opened as an American Army Hospital in 1942. It is now surrounded by newer buildings as the hospital has expanded tremendously.

Musgrove Park Hospital
The original hospital on this site was built during the second World War for troops injured on and after D-Day. Many of the original single storey buildings are still in use behind the shiny new facade.

Musgrove park Hospital - boiler house
The glazed section is in front of two large Robey Loos packaged boilers that are served by the chimney. The white van is for the steeplejacks - one is seen at the top of the chimney. Beyond the van is the mortuary and I have been there on business before. I cannot resist a good chimney.

Musgrove Park Hospital - boiler house
Yes, there is a steeplejack on top of that chimney. There is a diesel generator to the left. Some of the yellow signs warn that there is no pedestrian access beyond this point. I had walked round in the opposite direction and had walked out past these signs as there were no warnings from the opposite direction. The boiler house contained two large Robey package boilers.

Steeplejacks at work - Musgrove Park Hospital
These steeplejacks appear to be doing work on the anti-collision lights on the boiler house chimney at this large hospital. It was getting gloomy, resulting in a rather grainy result. I had followed a path round a rather tight corner to come out near the boiler house and mortuary. From the other direction there are signs prohibiting access but there were none from this direction.
