An IET departing from Taunton
On a GWR service to Penzance. IET = Intercity Express Train. The same trains are being introduced on the East Coast main line where they are known as 'Azumas'. We have Richard Branson's Virgin Trains to thank for that name!

Foundry offices, Albemarle Road, Taunton
The building with the gable end carries a stone plaque stating Easton & Johnson Ltd, Engineers. There is still engineering performed on site but of the previous sort that included steam engines among other products Image

Platform 1, Taunton railway station
This platform is a west-facing bay (terminus) platform on the southern side of the station. Platform 1 is not currently used by passenger trains but is sometimes used for stabling trains. A track maintenance vehicle is at the far end of the platform.

Platform 6, Taunton
A view from above the buffers. I had a wait here for a connection due to missing the direct train in Exeter by seconds. No problems with the bike, even though one train was an 125 and of course I had no reservation. Thank you Great Western!
