Cottages on Church Street
An inscription on the buildings says that they date from 1510. This used to accommodate a former pub, the Bell Alehouse. This was one of 46 historic pubs in the area, and this link provides an interesting account: http://lostpubsofbishopscastle.co.uk/?highlightmarker=10

Today, in September 2022, the Texaco fuel station remains but the convenience store is branded SPAR. There is also a post office on the site.

This pair of mid-to-late 17th C. cottages has late 19 & 20th C. alterations and additions. Nevertheless they are Grade II listed with English Heritage Building ID: 256941.

This is the lower end of the street, looking southwards, and the church tower can be seen beyond the T-junction. On the left is a timber-framed cottage, a large house with three-storey bay windows, and a terrace of houses each painted a different bright colour.
