Chris helped build relationships with local landowners, local walking groups and local councillors and County Hall regarding opening up local footpaths for health, mental wellbeing and social cohesion apparently.

Notice in the hedgeline near Longden
Someone has erected a notice here after some ten year old sapling trees were cut off by hedgecutting. I feel their pain. I have seen plenty of examples of vandalism by hedge-cutters, contractors and people who either don't care or pretend not to care, cutting trees and hedges to their own tastes with no assessment, consultation or awareness. They have a job to do, but they don't do it very well. This is apparently one such case.

Passive-aggressive note in the hedge
As the result of environmental vandalism. I can't blame them. Some ten or so ten-year-old saplings were cut down despite having frames erected to indicate that they should not be treated as part of the hedge, but as taller trees, and respected, left uncut and avoided by anyone hedge trimming. They weren't. I've seen hedge-cutters vandalise road signs, mutilate willy-nilly and fail to do their job with wisdom, discretion and professionalism. I've even had them mutilate trees in my garden in this way, despite not being in the hedge (but being further into my garden). I'm on the side of the victims here - the trees and the outraged message poster.

Private drive west of Longden
This is effectively a drive for Longden Manor I think and a few notices emphasise this fact along its route. It carries part of the Shropshire Way and a local footpath and part of the Chris Bagley Walk.
