Butchery in Wem High Street
The Butchery is on the corner of High Street and Chapel Street. A small-sized row of text on the For Sale boards on the first floor shows that the existing business is unaffected.

House and rear entrance to school, Chapel Street, Wem
The inscription is 'British Schools'. These were non-conformist schools set up before local authorities provided 'board' schools. 'School' is often seen in the plural, one for boys and one for girls; later maybe one for infants as well. The school is (or was) in Leek Street.
