Distance

Road closed for 12 days
The closure is, in fact, some 9 miles ahead at the Nant-y-moch dam, where repairs are being carried out. In the (probably hypothetical) case of someone wishing to travel from one side of the dam to the other, the diversion via Ponterwyd is about 30 miles in length.

Imposing houses at a road junction above Tal-y-bont
To the right for the road through Cwm Ceulan to Nant-y-moch and Ponterwyd. My walking route to Cwm Cletwr took me to the left along the very narrow winding road which meanders in the hills above Tre Taliesin and Tre'r-ddol.

Road sign near Tal-y-bont
Looks like the sign attracted the attention of the Welsh language vandals during their campaign against anglicised road signs in the latter part of the last century, one arm having been broken away. Why the arm containing the word 'and' (W. ac) survived, I know not.

Minor road heading east from Talybont
Heading up the Leri valley and eventually reaching Bontgoch, serving various farms, communities and individual houses on the way. The Dyfi estuary and Aberdyfi can be seen in the distance.
