St Ffraith church, Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain
Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain stands in a slightly elevated position above the village. The church is dedicated to St Ffaith, I was confused by Pevsner reference to St Bride only to discover St Ffraith is otherwise known as St Bride or St Bridget. The core of the church dates from the 12th century.

The church of St Fraid or St Bride in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain
A very picturesque village church on its hill crown. Note the lively little resident on the tree trunk. He was collecting conkers. Which we also did. Shiny, glorious trophies of the season.

Recreation Ground, Treflan
The home ground of The New Saints (formerly Total Network Solutions, formerly Llansantffraid). The club is planning to move to a new stadium near Oswestry. (Llansantfraid merged with Oswestry Town to become Total Network Solutions). The plans to move to a stadium in England were originally turned down but were accepted on appeal by UEFA as Oswestry Town were founder members of the Football Association of Wales and could prove a long history of playing their football in Wales.
