The church of St Fraid or St Bride in Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain
A very picturesque village church on its hill crown.
Note the lively little resident on the tree trunk. He was collecting conkers. Which we also did. Shiny, glorious trophies of the season.

Llansantffraid Church
The beautifully simple church of Saint Ffraid in Llansantffraid. St Ffraid is the patron saint of Trearddur Bay, Anglesey, and was born in about AD 450. The name is the Welsh version of St Brigid of Kildare.

St Ffraith church, Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain
Llansantffraid-ym-Mechain stands in a slightly elevated position above the village. The church is dedicated to St Ffaith, I was confused by Pevsner reference to St Bride only to discover St Ffraith is otherwise known as St Bride or St Bridget. The core of the church dates from the 12th century.
