In the churchyard of St Garmon's, Castle Caereinion http://www.geograph.org.uk/photo/509983 . Part of the trunk of this old yew has been sawn off flat and mounted with flagstones as a seat. There are several yews on low mounds in the churchyard.

Obstacle race at Castle fête
An interesting line-up here. Mike the Shop on the left then, taking a narrow lead, is Lembit Öpik, MP for Montgomeryshire at the time. Behind him is the vicar and to the right, trailing slightly, Glyn Davies who beat Lembit in the General Election eight months later.

St Garmon's church, Castle Caereinion
This church was entirely rebuilt in 1866 and there is no definite evidence as to when the first church was built here. It seems to have been built in the bailey of the castle, the remains of the motte, built in 1156 by Madoc ap Mareddud, still exists in the northern part of the churchyard. For more information about this church see https://cpat.org.uk/Archive/churches/montgom/16739.htm. The red brick building in the foreground is the old school.
