Fallen tree trunk across the footpath
A walk up Moel y Golfa is never without incident and this obstacle is just one of many that walkers can expect to encounter en route to the summit. The options are scramble underneath or leap boldly over it.

Disused quarry on Moel y Golfa
This quarry will gradually return to nature. A footpath, which leads up or around Moel y Golfa, passes its foot. For a relatively small hill Moel y Golfa has very varied scenery, including mature beechwoods, open heather moorland, stands of mature fir and newer pine plantations, dense oakwoods, areas of scrub and grasslands, this quarry, and some fields and sheep pasture. Cracking views all around too. All in a 2 hour full ascent and return.
