A curious pierced, hollow, cast iron gatepost on the entrance to St John the Baptist church. It seems to have suffered some damage over the years.

The Aleppo Merchant, Carno
The pub was established in 1632 and was given the name of the East India Company ship the Aleppo Merchant, was captain was a local man.

Sign for the Aleppo Merchant
Although the current sign shows a steam ship, the Aleppo Merchant was a vessel of 400 tons, who sailed between 1642-50, and did four voyages for the East India Company.

St John the Baptist - tower
A charming little Victorian church, totally rebuilt in 1867. I particularly like the wooden surround to the three faces of the clock.
